Protection of employment land

​Why is it important to protect employment land?

The availability of employment land is vital to the sustainability of the Island's economy and it is important that land and buildings that have been developed for economic activity, are protected for this use.

Development proposals which seek to change the use of employment land will be required to demonstrate that

• the site is no longer viable for the existing use or any other employment-related use
• that it has been the subject of full and proper marketing
