Involvement with youth schemes
The Jersey Fire and Rescue Service works with youth schemes to:
- prevent children and young people being harmed or killed in accidental fires, or causing fires through ignorance or carelessness
- prevent children and young people becoming involved in fire crime and associated antisocial behaviour
Child Accident Prevention Jersey (CAPJ)
We are active members of both the strategic and operational teams for CAPJ.
We provide support to the Helmet Matters campaigns that encourage the wearing of cycle helmets.
We also run a fire safety stage during Safety in Action week, which almost every year 5 student attends to learn essential life safety skills.
