To assume responsibility for the ordering of stock, preparing and producing meals for service users, whilst taking into account any dietary requirements/allergens. The post-holder is required to provide a choice in food offering for lunch and dinner.
Day-to-day tasks include:
• Preparing and planning meals using food items donated to the Trust
• Sourcing ingredients from local suppliers
• Managing and monitoring the agreed budget for all kitchen expenditure
• Considering a choice of meal options that are healthy and cater for specific dietary requirements
• Ensuring high standards of food hygiene and health and safety requirements are maintained and adhered to
• Taking all reasonable steps to minimize food wastage and preserve food quality
Previous experience working in the role of Chef is essential.
