Statement of significance A high quality example of a late Victorian church in the Early English style, which is substantially unaltered. Context n/a External Description The church is of coursed pink rubble granite with dressings of Mont Mado granite to the buttresses, quoins, verges and windows. The church is orientated north-south with a bell tower over the northernmost gable of the chancel, a carved granite cross over the gable between the chancel and the nave and a decorative dovecote over the southernmost gable. The roofs are gabled and covered with red clay tiles - the clerestoreyed central nave with lean-to aisles to both sides. The nave and aisles are of five bays and the sanctuary, which is at a higher level, is of two bays. There is a gabled entrance porch set perpendicular to the west aisle, detailed to match the main church building. The east doorway is of a dressed granite lancet arch with four colonnettes and a chequered tympanum. The clerestory windows are lancets, two to a bay, whilst the aisle windows are twin lancets with plate tracery. The south and north windows are larger, with plate tracery, flanked by two smaller aisle windows - all with drip mouldings. A commemorative stone to the south gable reads 'THIS STONE WAS: LAID 4th JUNE 1889 BY THE RIGHT REV. THE BP: OF GUILDFORD'. There is a granite boundary wall with iron railing panels and stone gateway to Le Mont les Vaux. Internal Description The church has a notable interior with few alterations made since its completion. There is a good collection of stained glass windows including three by HT Bosdet, and the north window in the Lady Chapel by Sir Edward Burne-Jones - the only Pre-Raphaelite window in Jersey. There is a Crown-post roof, and tall arcades of clustered columns to the east and west aisles. Also of note is an elaborate marble reredos and marble font. Other furnishings survive including the pews, choir stalls and pulpit.
