​​​​The Minister for Infrastructure, in pursuance of Article 68 of the Road Traffic (Jersey) Law 1956, as amended, and after consultation with the Connétable of St Helier, gives notice of the following traffic changes to prohibition of waiting, paying parking places, parking of vehicles on roads for loading and unloading and disabled persons parking places on The Parade, Halkett Place and Beresford Street.

These changes will take effect from Monday 18 November 2024.

Road Traffic (St Helier) (Jersey) Order 1996

Introduced to the schedule of the order:

Schedule 4 Prohibition of Waiting

  • remove the existing entry for Beresford Street in Column 2 “south side (between Bath Street and a point 30 yards west)” and replace with “south side (between Bath Street and a point 8 yards west)
  • remove the existing entry for The Parade (western arm) “west side (between a point 57 yards north of Gloucester Street and a point 42 yards further north)” and replace with “west side (between a point 57 yards north of Gloucester Street and a point 35.5 yards further north)”

Schedule 8, Part 1B Paying Parking Places 20 Minute Limit between 9am and 10pm except Sundays

  • insert an entry for Beresford Street: south side (between a point 42 yards west of its junction with Bath Street, and a point 6.5 yards further west)

Schedule 8, Part 1C Paying Parking Places 20 Minute Limit between 10am and 5pm except Sundays

  • remove the entry for Beresford Street: south side (between a point 8 yards west of its junction with “Wests Centre”, and a point 47 yards further west)

Schedule 10, Part 1, Parking of vehicles on Roads for Loading and Unloading

  • replace the existing entry for Halkett Place – in Column 2 “east side (between Beresford Street and a point 14 yards north of Hilgrove Street)” with a new entry “east side (between Beresford Street and a point 27 yards north of Hilgrove Street)”
  • ​remove the existing entry for Beresford Street in Column 2 “south side (between a point 8 yards west of its junction with Wests Centre and a point 45 yards further west” and replace with “south side (between a point 8 yards west of its junction with Bath Street and a point 21 yards further west)”
  • remove the existing entry for Beresford Street in Column 4 “6am to 10am, Monday to Saturday” and replace with “at all times”

Road Traffic (Disabled Persons) (Parking) (Jersey) Order 2002

Schedule 1, Parking places – 4 hour limit

  • ​remove the existing entry for The Parade (western arm) in column 2 “west side (between a point 99 yards north of its junction with Gloucester Street and a point 13 yards further north)

Schedule 1, Parking places – 2 hour limit

  • insert an entry in Column 1 “The Parade (western arm)” and add the entry in Column 2 “west side (between a point 92.5 yards north of its junction with Gloucester Street and a point 19.5 yards further north)
  • insert an entry in Column 1 “Halkett Place” and add the entry in Column 2 “east side (between a point 14 yards north of Hilgrove Street to a point 13 yards further north)”
  • ​insert an entry in Column 1 “Beresford Street” and add the entry in Column 2 “between a point 29 yards west from Bath Street to a point 13 yards further west)”​
