About La Passerelle
We're a small, short-stay, nurturing support team for secondary school age young people in Key Stages 3 and 4. We support students who feel unable to attend school because of a range of issues such as high anxiety.
Most of our students internalise their anxiety, find it difficult to attend and engage in life at their current school. Even though they really would like to be there.
La Passerelle supports students returning to their school by:
- enhancing their personal wellbeing
- getting back on track
- improving their attendance
- continuing their learning
- liaising closely with outside agencies and host schools
How we support young people with anxiety
We offer a small, caring learning environment and provide opportunities for therapeutic support such as music therapy sessions. Capacity varies based on the needs of the students attending the sessions.
Our curriculum focuses on:
- Maths and English provided by the host school
- developing resilience, confidence and inter-personal skills offered by an in-house team and professional partners
The curriculum is delivered through small group work and 1 to 1 sessions based on personalised plans, with a nurture group philosophy and holistic focus.
Our approach supports the student, family, and school. As we know that progress is made when everyone around the student feels supported.
