The Health and Safety Inspectorate is pleased to announce that the revised ‘Display Screen Equipment at Work: Approved Code of Practice’ has been approved by the Minister for Social Security and came into effect on 1 February 2025.
This Approved Code of Practice, ACoP 4, replaces the previous edition of the ‘Display Screen Equipment at Work which came into force on 1 December 1998 and was due revision. Whilst retaining the overall principles of the previous edition, the revised ACoP reflects the variety of modern working practices that have developed since that time.
Local stakeholders were invited to comment on the draft revised ACoP in 2024. The submissions and suggestions received were taken into account when publishing the final document.
