Jersey's Chief Minister at the time, Ian Gorst, released a report to the States of Jersey Assembly in October 2017, which outlined the key government actions to implement the inquiry's recommendations.
It was debated in-committee following a request to do so by the Care of Children in Jersey Review Panel. The report described a comprehensive programme of delivery arising from the eight recommendations. It was acknowledged that the broader cultural changes identified by the Care Inquiry, which are crucial to underpinning and sustaining any future changes, go beyond the timescale for the preparation of the report and two-year timeline for the Panel's return.
