Request
The Freedom of Information (FOI) response dated 27 May 2020 (see below) that provided an update on the progress of the Taxi Reform Programme made by Ministerial Decision MD-T-2015-0079 confirm that "None of the objectives have been abandoned".
However the accompanying Table made no mention of the revised Drivers Disciplinary procedure that under the Ministerial Decision MD-T-2015-0079 was stated as being one of the Key Objectives (2.5(h)) and also confirmed that "A new points based disciplinary system" "will be developed (3.26).
My request is:
Has this key objective now been abandoned? and if not please advise on progress towards implementation.
Response
Ministerial Decision MD-T-2015-0079 is an approval for work streams to be created to progress the law drafting element of the overall Reform Programme. (‘a drafting MD’)
As stated in the previous FOI response, the Government of Jersey have not abandoned any of the key objectives, however as individual elements progress through the law drafting process, they can be subject to changes.
The GOJ are continuing to progress the elements listed under the ‘drivers’ key objective (3.23 to 3.29 in the MD report), however, no further changes of law, have been actioned since the information provided in May.
