The Freedom of Information response below lists all residential properties leased by the Government of Jersey and shows that the total cost is £4.45 million per annum:

  • ​23 Kensington Place (three x flat and one x commercial unit) counted as one unit in lease
  • Peter Crill House (five floors in 2018 and then four floors from 2019 onwards) counted as one unit in owned
  • All data taken from December of each year.

It is not possible to provide the financial information as this was kept on a now retired computer system and it has been estimated that it would take in excess of the 12.5 hours allowed for Freedom of Information responses in accordance with Regulation 2 (1) of the Freedom of Information (Costs) (Jersey) Regulations 2014 to extract the data.  

Therefore, Article 16 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has been applied and this part of the request will not be processed further.

Please note that the majority of these rentals are being recovered by the tenant or locum agencies. It is not a net nil, however the Government of Jersey covers rent subsidy and void only and does not in any circumstances make a profit on rentals based on the Public Finances Manual stipulation.

(1) A scheduled public authority that has been requested to supply information may refuse to supply the information if it estimates that the cost of doing so would exceed an amount determined in the manner prescribed by Regulations. ​​
