Islanders have their first chance to ask questions and give their views on the future of Health and Social Services at a public meeting at Trinity Youth Club on Monday 11 June.
It’s the first of 4 public meetings to be held on the ‘Caring for Each Other, Caring for Ourselves’ white paper and there are just 6 weeks left for people to have their say before the deadline for responses to the consultation on Friday 20 July.
The meeting is being held in the evening, between 7.30pm and 9pm at the youth club, which is behind Trinity Parish Hall.
3 other meetings, 1 in late June, and 2 in July, will be held before the consultation closes.
Health and Social Services Minister, Deputy Anne Pryke, Chief Executive Officer of Health and Social Services, Julie Garbutt, and other representatives from the department will be at the meeting. There will be a brief presentation about the white paper proposals and an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the options that have been identified as a result of last year’s green paper consultation.
Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Anne Pryke, said "We urge all Islanders to have their say on this important white paper, and 1 way of doing this is to come to a public meeting to find out more, and ask any questions you might have. The proposals about the future of health and social care in Jersey affect every Islander, and it is important we know your views on what we have proposed to offer Islanders the best health and social care in the future, as we face challenges such as caring for our growing elderly population and providing the best services we can. You can also pick up a copy of the white paper at the meeting."
Copies of the white paper are available from every parish hall, the reception area in the Parade entrance of the General Hospital and the Gloucester Street entrance, all Health and Social Services Department sites, the bookshop at Morier House, Social Security, the Jersey Library, the ground floor area in Cyril Le Marquand House, and for Blue Islands passengers, the Blue Islands lounge at Jersey Airport.
