Applications for support schemes extended

Islanders who are eligible for the Cold Weather Bonus or Community Cost Bonus now have until 31 January to apply, after the deadline was extended.

The Community Cost Bonus (previously Food Cost Bonus) and the Cold Weather Bonus are open for application every year to support households who are just above the Income Support threshold. 

Applications open on 1 October every year, and usually close on 31 December. However, applications have been extended until 31 January 2021. 

Islanders can apply for both the Cold Weather Bonus and the Community Cost Bonus online via the Government of Jersey website. People who cannot access the online form can call Customer and Local Services on (01534) 444444 to apply via phone.

 

Minister for Social Security, Judy Martin, said: “I appreciate many people have other things to worry about at the moment – I didn’t want anyone to miss out claiming this financial support, so I have asked for the deadline to be extended by a month to 31st January 2021.”
