Passports issued in Jersey are British passports. There is no such thing as a “Jersey” passport. The Jersey variant British passport is issued by the Jersey Passport Office on behalf of the Crown and is printed and delivered from the UK. Customers issued with Jersey variant British passports benefit from identical services such as consular support to that of any other British passport holder.
In general, Jersey variant British passports are only issued to local residents and to UK residents born in Jersey. The Passport Office cannot issue a passport if the person is physically abroad at the time of application.
