A fine example of a Victorian railway terminus building, now converted to the Parish Hall, retaining its late C19 character and exterior detailing. Important role in the history of Jersey transport and local government. High scenic value and a main focal point of St Aubin.

External Description
Parish Hall of St Brelade with Police Station and attached to Parish Assembly Room. The main building is 2 storey, 2:4:2 bays. It has 4 corner towers with hipped slate roofs and bracketed overhanging eaves. There are rendered chimneystacks with segmental caps and dentils, to the S front and towers. Rendered walls, lined in rusticated ashlar effect on ground floor wings. Wide bracketed eaves cornice, panelled pilasters to upper floor corners. String course to first floor incorporated over windows with keystones and vermiculated panel decoration. Principal S elevation has central 4 bay entrance with depressed arches with wide doorways with glazed/ panelled doors and sidelights. Between the doors 2, 4 pane 2/2 sashes with horns. Balcony above with balusters and piers. First floor has pairs of 1/1 sashes with horns, centre 4 similar round headed windows, the outer with 2 light casements, the inner 1/1 sashes with horns. Stone staircase on east side leading down to cellar. Subsidiary 2 storey wing to east, 2:2:2 bays, Parish Assembly Room. Hipped slate roof with rendered stacks placed centrally in each elevation. Rendered with string course to first floor incorporated over windows, and pilasters between bays. C20 ground floor S extension not of interest. Rear (N) wing with pitched slate roof. Other rear extensions not of interest.
Internal Description
The interior of the property is not of interest. The building has been subject to various alterations and refurbishments for its current use. The interior only retains a fragmentary survival of typical late C19 joinery features, such as some 4-panelled doors and a staircase; with the cellar storage areas including wine bins and beer barrel racks. These are not considered of sufficient interest to merit interior protection.
