External Description
The military structures known as Strongpoint Le Grouin form part of an extensive network of defences constructed in Jersey by the German occupying forces during the Second World War. It comprises a range of reinforced concrete structures (partly buried) placed strategically around the headland. There is a standard type 680 casemate for 7.5cm anti-tank gun facing ouaisne Bay, a standard type 631 casemate for 4.7cm Czech anti-tank gun facing St Brelade's Bay, a personnel shelter used in conjunction with a 19th century granite sentry post plus a range of mortar and machine gun emplacements with ancillary shelters.
