External Description
Rock-faced squared random grey granite with pink ashlar quoins, string courses, bands and dressings. Comprises a nave, north porch, lower chancel, and saddle-backed tower to north of chancel. 19th century nave is five bays long. The side windows are chamfered lancets and the west window is divided into three lancets. There is a Latin cross at the apex of the west gable and a Celtic cross at the apex of the east gable. The gabled roof is of Welsh slate with six small lead covered trefoil ventilators near the apex. There is a small north porch with drip moulding over the door and a slate roof. The interior has open pine roof with arch-braced collar trusses. The early 20th century chancel and tower are similarly built of matching grey random granite but with the detailing in grey granite also. The windows are mostly lancets, some in pairs, but the east window is larger with plate tracery. The tower is square, of four storeys, with a belfry at the top and a saddle back slate roof. A church precinct provides a setting to the building - bordered by a rubble granite wall, with a gateway in the northwest corner which has a pair of well-dressed granite pillars with domed caps. There are no features of interest within the precinct. The modern ancillary structure in the northeast corner of the site is not included within the listing.
