Its scale and proportions make a dramatic contribution to St. Peter's Valley. Although restored in the early C21 it retains its historic character and features, of particular note the restored unique-pattern water wheel. Context The lowest of a set of mills on St. Peter's Valley. External Description 4 storey with attic, 5 bay building with extended bay to north. Adjoining to north east is 2 storey, 2 bay building. To west is leat and water wheel (double width - unique in Jersey). To north pigsties. Main building: H-shaped, double pitched slate roof forming two gables to east and west elevations, roof extends over bay to north. Front (east) elevation: Rubble wall, dressed stone quoins and door openings, brick dressed window openings. Windows replacement 12 pane sashes. Doors replacements. Timber weatherboarded outshot over central entrance door, recessed entrance to north bay with loading door/window over. Rear (west) elevation: 3 northerly bays extend west, central bay projects further in 2 storey pitched extension. Materials and windows match east elevation. Side (north) elevation: slate roof has C20 rooflights, single storey lean-to has brick chimney at eaves. Walls rendered. Windows to 4 storey section 6 pane flat arched; 3 storey section 12 pane sashes; single storey 4 pane sash and 2 pane - all replacements. Adjoining 2 storey building: pantile roof to south slope, slate to north slope; brick chimneys to each gable. Walls render to east and south elevations, rubble with brick dressed openings to north elevation. Windows replacement 4 pane sashes. Internal Description There remain in situ the entablature beam for an early 19th century beam engine and the bottom sections of condenser and air pump as well as the hot well and chimney base - probably the only one in the Channel Islands.
