The C20 addition does not detract from its historic massing and it retains historic features and character. Also of significance is the extant water power features. Context The mill and the mill cottage work as a group. External Description Mill (2 storey with attic, 3 bay) with 2 storey lean-to to N gable. C20 single storey, lean-to extension, to N boundary wall, abutting N bay. Front (east) elevation: slate roof with brick chimneys to gables. Rubble granite walls with stone/brick dressed openings. Windows 12 pane (6/6) sashes, no horns (replacements) and 4 pane (2/2) round headed sash to ground floor S bay. Replacement door in rendered architrave. 2 storey lean-to has a slate roof and is rendered, 12 pane (6/6) sash with horns. C20 extension: slate and glazed roof with rendered walls and timber windows. Rear (west) elevation: slate roof. Rubble granite walls with stone/brick dressed openings. Windows 12 pane (6/6) sashes, no horns or replacements in altered openings. Gable (south) elevation: rendered wall with 12 pane (6/6) sash, no horns to ground level, single pane to attic and replacement in C20 opening to first floor.
