Statement of significance
A good example of a single storey cottage characteristic of the St Clement and Grouville coastal area, with many external features surviving.

One of a number of single storey cottages historically characteristic of the St Clement and Grouville coastal area.
External Description
3-bay, single-storey with attic. Recently renovated. Pitched slate roof with pierced ridge tiles and pair of stucco chimneystacks with decorative cornice band. Front (north) elevation: stucco scored in imitation ashlar with emphasised quoin strips. The window openings are decorated with sill brackets and keystone with flower motif. Timber 4-pane sash windows with central grooved detail imitating the appearance of a casement. Restored timber louvered shutters. Central 4-panel door with glazed side lights and painted overlight 'HOPE VILLA'. Granite rubble end walls, attic windows in gables. Low rendered wall and gateway to front garden with squat pillars with cornice detail.
