I would like the data for the following questions for each month of the calendar years from 2015 to the current calendar year 2025.
Non-emergency Stretcher Transfers are to include any transfer to routine appointments, from routine appointments, a discharge or admission to any Health and Community Services departments/wards.
1. How many non-emergency Stretcher Transfers have been requested through the Emergency Ambulance Service each year?
2. How many non-emergency Stretcher Transfers have been refused or had to be rebooked for a later date through the Emergency Ambulance service each year?
3. Allocated to a different Scheduled Public Authority (SPA)
4. How many non-emergency Stretcher Transfers have been requested outside of the Patient Transport Service Working Hours and have been placed on to the Emergency Ambulance Service?
5.What is the average time delay for these Stretcher Transfers when requested outside of the Patient Transport Service working hours?
Response
1.
The number of Routine Stretcher Transfers requested through the Emergency Services Control Room (ESCC) is shown in the attached table. These are identified where the main patient's mobility is either Stretcher or Stretcher/4 Person Lift. Duplicate calls and calls for information only have been removed. A portion of these calls will have been passed to the Patient Transport Service (PTS) but are included in these figures where the initial request has come through the ESCC.

2.
The States of Jersey Ambulance Service (SoJAS) do not refuse patients who meet the eligibility criteria for a Routine Transfer. When there is no availability of an emergency ambulance crew to complete the Routine Stretcher Transfer, the call will be held until an emergency ambulance or patient transport service crew become available.
3.
Allocated to a different SPA.
4.
PTS working hours are 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). The attached table contains the number of Routine Stretcher Transfers requested through the ESCC outside of these hours and subsequently attended by an emergency ambulance crew. This is based on the time that the call is received by the ESCC.
5.
When processing a Routine Stretcher Transfer request through the ESCC, Controllers will record a time requested for the appointment. When the emergency ambulance crew does not arrive by the time requested, the average time from appointment to first vehicle on scene is recorded in the attached table.
