The Electricity at Work (Jersey) Regulations 1983 set out the legal requirements to prevent danger during the use of electricity in all places of work, including domestic situations where persons are employed to carry out work.
The regulations apply to all electrical systems and equipment and deal with:
- the selection and installation of equipment
- its use
- systems of work
- the competence of persons carrying out work on electrical systems and equipment
- setting safety standards to be achieved without inhibiting technological improvement
