Transport and Technical Services (TTS) is retendering the contract to recycle aggregates at La Collette and is advertising for appropriately experienced local contractors to apply for the new five-year contract.
The current aggregate recycling contract has been operating for the last seven years (five years for the initial term and then extended by two years) and it is now time to retender in compliance with States procurement procedures.
In Jersey, recycling of construction and demolition waste has been accepted as a key requirement for sustainable development within an island community. The new contract will take account of the current construction industry market and the future requirements at La Collette.
TTS is currently seeking expressions of interest from local companies who would be interested in tendering for the contract to recycle aggregates (with an option to also include glass recycling) which would run from April 2014, with the intended duration of five years plus a possible two-year extension.
TTS is particularly keen to hear from contractors who can show they will bring innovation and best practice to the operation, who will maximise recycling and produce products that meet the local construction industry requirements.
Any company wishing to tender for the contract should register their interest on the e-portal. Further information is available on the website. The closing date for expressions of interest is 16 April 2013. Expressions of interest will be accepted via the e-portal.
