Islanders encouraged to get tested for HIV

21 November 2024

Islanders are being encouraged to get tested for HIV, if they do not know their status, as part of World AIDS Awareness Day.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) can affect anyone regardless of age, gender and sexuality. You can’t rely on symptoms to tell you if you have HIV, the only way to be certain is to get tested.

The Blood Borne Virus Service is offering free tests at the General Hospital on Monday 2 December between 9am and 12.30pm. To book a test phone 444319 or email BBV@health.gov.je

Islanders can also be tested for HIV at the Sexual Health clinic. Appointments are available daily from Monday to Friday. To book an appointment email S.H@gov.je.
