On Wednesday 1 May, officers from the Customs and Immigration Service seized approximately 8.5 kilograms of herbal cannabis from the suitcase of a 59 year old Spanish national who had arrived from Saint Malo.
Diego Duenas Rodrigues from Granada has been charged with the importation of drugs and was due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court at 10am this morning (Friday 3 May).
The estimated street value of the cannabis in Jersey is between £170,000 and £210,000.
