Almost 3000 rose bushes will be replanted in the Crematorium’s Memorial Rose Garden over
the coming weeks. This project is funded by the Crematorium Memorial Fund, as agreed by the
Crematorium User Group, to maintain the beauty and tranquillity of the garden for
remembrance and reflection.
The work will be carried out in two phases, each phase taking approximately two weeks to
complete, weather dependant.
Phase 1: Starts on 2 December 2024. This work will be in the newer part of crematorium rose
garden and the main lawn.
Phase 2: Starts on 6 January 2024. This work will be in the old rose garden.
While the work is ongoing, some areas of the garden may be temporarily inaccessible, and
flowerpots and markers will be removed. Staff at the Crematorium will be available to help and
guide anyone visiting the garden. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and
appreciate your patience as we carry out this important improvement.
Family and friends of loved ones laid to rest in the crematorium gardens can be assured there
will be no disturbance to the burial places, as the new rose bushes will be planted in the exact
original spot in alignment with the rose garden maps.
