The metal recycling operator for our facility at La Collette changed from EMR to
Hunt Bros.
We’re reopening on Monday 10 March 2025 with limited services. We’ll accept some items, but other items will need to be recycled directly at Hunt Bros. Find more details on
where you can recycle your metal.

Where you can recycle your metal
Until updates are completed by the new operator, there'll be 2 locations to recycle your metal.
Recycling facility at La Collette
You can bring the following items at our metal recycling facility at La Collette from Monday 10 March:
- cooling appliances, such as fridges, freezers and air conditioners
- non-ferrous commercial and household metals
- end of life vehicles
Hunt Bros' depot
The following items need to go directly at
Hunt Bros' depot on La Rue Gosset, next to DVS:
- other large domestic appliances, such as washing machines and cookers
- all ferrous metal, such as iron and steel
End of life vehicles
If you’re delivering a vehicle to be scrapped, the owner of the vehicle must:
- complete the reverse of the Vehicle Registration document by ticking the 'scrapped' box
- enter the date the vehicle was scrapped in box no. 1
- sign the document
You must send the Vehicle Registration document to DVS within 7 days.
Recycling household metal
You can recycle household metals and lead acid batteries as usual at the Household Recycling Centre at La Collette.
Items we accept:
- bicycles
- metal tools
- aerosols
- metal lids
- drinks cans and food tins
- aluminium foil and packaging
- metal framed furniture
- metal kitchenware, such as pots, pans and utensils
