Our aim​​

The​ Future Economy Programme aims to ensure we enjoy a better standard of living in ​2040 than we do now. It focuses on 3 components: ​

  • Economic awarenes​s​​​​

Our vision​

To be a ​consistently high performing, environmentally sustainable and technologically advanced small island economy by 2040. 

Why we need it​

We're facing 2 significant challenges:

  • Demographic shifts: without net inward migration, the amount of people aged 65 and over is projected to increase by 30%, while working-age population will fall by 10%. ​
  • Productivity: si​nce 1998, overall productivity in Jersey has fallen by about 30%.​​​​
