Anthony Spiteri sees private patients at the Little Grove Clinic and Jersey General Hospital eye clinic.

Anthony specialises in anterior segment surgery and medical retina surgery.
His sub-speciality interests include cataract surgery (following trauma/ complicated surgery), glaucoma, cornea (including transplants, pterygium and keratoconus), ocular surface disease (dry eyes, microbial keratitis, blepharitis), medical retina (including age related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, vascular occlusions), basic paediatric conditions, oculoplastics.
Training
Anthony graduated from the University of Malta in 1997.
He undertook training at teaching hospitals in the UK including Moorfields Eye, King’s College and the Sussex Eye Hospitals and fellowship training in anterior segment surgery at the Western Eye Hospital, Imperial College, London.
His research passion is medical education and in particular cataract surgical skills training.
He has authored several award winning publications and has devised a virtual reality training curriculum for cataract surgery.
He is also a registered examiner for the European Board of Ophthalmologists in Paris and a member of the UK and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
He set up the Anterior Segment service in the Channel Islands, repatriating over 90% of referrals to the mainland within his first year.
